Amazon Introduced Echo Dot and Echo Studio Speakers With Improved Audio
The display on the Echo Dot with Clock has been updated to make it more useful.
Amazon has introduced new Echo speakers, although from the exterior they don’t appear to be anything that different from previous models. Amazon did not introduce a new “normal” form of Alexa in 2018, despite the fact that it had previously been the flagship product for the company.
In the year 2020, it revealed a fully revamped Echo that had a spherical shape rather than the cylindrical construction that it had previously used. Even the “standard” model of the Echo won’t be receiving a refurbishment this time around.
Instead, the business claims that it has increased the audio performance of both the high-end Echo Studio as well as the tiny Echo Dot while maintaining the same design for both products overall.
The redesigned Echo Studio features an updated spatial audio processing that is an advancement on the 3D sound technology that was previously offered by Amazon. According to the information provided by the manufacturer, we should anticipate improved stereo sound with “increased width, clarity, and presence.”
Additionally, the frequency spectrum was improved with an improvement in the clarity of the mid-range and deeper bass. The high-end speaker that the company manufactures is now available in white, and the new model will be available for purchase in one month for the price of $200.
Amazon has also worked to improve the audio quality of its Echo Dot smart speaker, which the firm claims is the best-selling smart speaker in the world. Amazon claims that it modified the interior to fit a larger speaker while maintaining the device’s size the same as it was in earlier models while keeping the price the same.
According to the business, the new driver provides double the amount of bass as the previous Echo Dot and vocals that are more distinct. Amazon has also released an updated version of the Echo Dot with a Clock, which now includes a display that is able to show information such as artists, song names, and snooze timers.
Both models should benefit from updated accelerometers and sensors, which should make touch controls more responsive. Both the standard Echo Dot and the clock variant are now available for pre-order, with the standard model costing $50 and the clock version costing $60 respectively.
There are also two additional designs available for the Echo Dot Kids, a dragon, and an owl. Both of these designs will cost $60 when they become available the following month.
Additionally, Amazon said today that the Eero mesh WiFi technology has been integrated into its speakers. This translates to the fact that compatible Echo models are able to function as range extenders, increasing the amount of internet coverage by up to 1,000 square feet per device.
