Towie Actress Kate Ferdinand is Expecting a Baby with Rio
The news that Kate Ferdinand is having a child with her husband Rio was revealed at the same time as she debuted her growing baby belly for the first time.
The former star of “The Only Way Is Essex” announced her pregnancy on Instagram, where she also thanked her followers for “praying” for another child.
In a brief video clip, Kate can be seen unbuttoning her coat, which allows her pregnant tummy to be seen peeking out from below a black midi dress.
Rio, a former footballer who now works as a commentator for BT Sport, also posted the video on Instagram with the caption “5 in a red love heart.”
Kate, age 31, and Rio, age 44, are already parents to their son Cree, as well as Rio’s three children from his previous marriage to his late wife Rebecca, Lorenz, age 16, Tate, age 14, and Tia, age 11.
In September, Kate revealed to her devoted following that in July she had been forced to go through a miscarriage.
The mother said that she found out she was pregnant again the day before her birthday, and that the whole family had been “so delighted” to have a sibling who would be closer to Cree’s age.
“Simply put, we thought it would be nice for him to have a small pal to play with when he is out and about. The children realised the time, and so we informed them and certain members of the family that it was now, “It was explained by her.
In an episode of her podcast titled “Blended,” Kate described the moment she realised her pregnancy wasn’t proceeding normally and the expression on the sonographer’s face when they were informed there was no heartbeat in the baby.
Kate said that she ‘lost it’ and started crying right away.
“We went to lunch before to the 12-week ultrasound, and when I saw blood on the table, I felt as if God was trying to communicate with me. We were on our way out the door to go to the scan right then.
We both made an effort to seem as if nothing was wrong and everything was normal. The journey to the hospital was the longest one I’ve ever taken. I felt like I knew and someone was prepping me. I needed just to consider the appearance of the woman’s face. It was so terrible that I couldn’t help but break down in tears.
She went on to say that “I wasn’t ready for the events that took place after that. We had prepared a strategy for telling everyone. After filming the children, we intended to upload the footage to various social media platforms when we got back home.
“I really wanted to leave the room, but the notion of leaving the room horrified me because I had to go and inform the children and then go home and act normal. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.
“It was Friday, Lorenz’s birthday was on the following Sunday, and the operation was scheduled for the following Monday. It was the weekend that seemed like it lasted forever.”
She went on to say that it was very challenging to experience grief in the face of an invisible loss.
Following the announcement that she was expecting a child, Kate received an outpouring of love and encouragement from both her devoted following and her famous friends.
In a message to Georgia Kousoulou, another former Towie star Billie Shepherd wrote, “Huge congrats sweetheart.” In response, Georgia Kousoulou added, “Awww very pleased for you.”
On her blog, Vicky Pattison wrote: “OMG darling! Congratulations.
A year after tying the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Turkey surrounded by their family and friends, Kate and Rio became parents to their son Cree in the month of December 2020. Cree was the couple’s first child.
